Tropical Green Smoothie Recipe by Toronto Thermography Centre

One of our favourite things about August is the bright summer sun streaming through the blinds first thing in the morning. What a great way to wake up, a glorious excuse to get going, and to do so with a little vigour in our step for the start of a new day.

While we can, let’s soak up that sun! And any time of year, or in any mood first thing in the morning, we can help keep our bodies feeling that bright sunshine vibe with a yummy, nourishing tropical smoothie. Adding greens to your smoothie is a great way to sneak in a little extra nutrition – in our recipe below you will find spinach, which is rich in folate, calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium. Spinach really packs a powerful punch! If it was good for Popeye, it’s great for you!

Here we are sharing one of our favourite Green Smoothie recipes – full of spinach, as well as healthy fat (coconut oil) and protein (hemp protein powder). The beauty of a smoothie is you can make any combination you’d like. Follow our recipe below or change-it up depending on what you have on hand, and how you are feeling. Measurements of ingredients can also be a bit loose – add more or less liquid depending on your preference.

Tropical Green Smoothie

1 cup frozen mango

½ – 1 cup fresh pineapple

2 cups coconut water or almond milk

1 large handful spinach

1 tsp coconut oil

1 scoop hemp protein powder

This is a tropical taste of sunshine that can be enjoyed anytime of the year! Do you love a green smoothie? What are some of your favourite combinations?
